Before your visit...

• Waxing is not recommended for those using oral antibiotics or specialized skin medication such as RetinA, Renova, Accutane, Differin, etc, as these products thin out your skin and will cause irritation. Please let us know if you are using any of these products.
• Please be sure to have at least 3-4 weeks worth of hair growth, about 1/3 - 1/2" for new guests, and 1/4" for repeat guests, before waxing. This ensures the hair will be pulled from the root and give you the best results. 
• Don't trim your hair. The longer the hair, the more the wax will adhere, the smoother your skin will become, and the longer the results will last. 

During...

• Concerned about pain? It hurts more the first time than any other time because you are pulling out 100% of the hair, your nerves are on edge, and you don't know what to expect. You will experience a quick, temporary sting that stops hurting right away. By far the worst part for most people is the anticipation, not the actual removal.  Follow all the tips we give you and you will be fine. Your second time will be so much easier because your hair is not fully developed. We are trained and experienced to keep any pain to a minimum and to calm your nerves for a pleasurable experience.
  • If you are concerned about pain, you may take Tylenol 30 minutes prior to your appointment.

After...

• It is normal for your skin to show redness after waxing. Some skin is more sensitive than others and reactions may range from no redness at all to very red. The first time you wax an area, or if it has been a while since your last waxing, you will probably experience some redness and sensitivity afterwards. This usually subsides within a few hours, or for very sensitive skin within 24 hours.
• Concerned about ingrown hairs and want to maintain your smooth skin? For the first couples days, hand wash the area using a gentle acne body wash with salicylic acid. Afterwards, it is important to exfoliate the area until your next visit.  This will help with removing skin cells over the follicle and allow the hair to regrow naturally. Ingrown hairs and bumps are caused when the skin begins to heal over the follicle and the hair becomes trapped underneath the skin.
• Your Waxing will last 2 to 3 weeks. The more you wax, the longer it will last. We recommend absolutely no shaving in the treated area between waxes. Shaving traumatizes the hair follicle and creates redness and ingrowns. 
• Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate.
